What is your onboarding process like?

After you reach out to us (e.g., by filling out a contact form on our website), we will send you an email containing a link to access our secure client portal. From there, please upload a copy of your most recent tax return, and we will get back to you shortly with a quote.

What is your turnaround time?

Our turnaround time generally ranges from 2-6 weeks depending on your service package. The exact time may vary depending on the complexity of your return, as well as the time of year: like any tax preparer, we are busiest in March - April. 

 

 

Can I still get tax advice if I’m on the Bronze plan?

Yes, you can absolutely receive tax advice related to your tax return while on the Bronze plan. This includes guidance on deductions, credits, and any other issues directly associated with your current tax situation. However, if you're looking for more comprehensive tax planning and strategy discussions, we recommend considering an upgrade to the Gold option. This plan provides enhanced services that delve deeper into tax strategies and long-term planning, which can be highly beneficial as you navigate your financial landscape.

 

 

What are “safe harbor” quarterly taxes? 

If you request it, we will set up automated withdrawals for your quarterly estimated tax payments. Under the Gold plan, we will make an educated estimate of your tax liability based on current year's net income. By contrast, other plans use a “safe harbor” amount based on prior year's tax return. 

 

 

What if I don’t want to use direct debit / EFT / direct deposit? 

In keeping with our goal of making the tax process streamlined and hassle-free, our company’s policy is that all tax prep fees be paid through direct debit*. 

 

For IRS payments, most of our clients use direct debit for payments and/or direct deposit for refunds. However, you can receive refunds by mail or make payments via check or make payments directly to the IRS.

 

 

What software do you use?

Our company uses the award-winning DrakeTax for tax preparation. Accounting is done in QuickBooks, and payrolls are processed in Payroll Relief. 

 

 

Is my tax information secure?

Our client management portal, TaxDome, has excellent safeguards in place for security and privacy, including 256-bit SSL encryption. For this reason, we request that all documents containing sensitive information, as well as all tax-related discussion, be conducted in our client portal. 

 

Do you provide state tax services?

We can help you file state-level taxes in Texas (e.g., franchise tax, sales & use tax, etc.). We can also file state income tax returns with your individual or business tax return. For state-specific taxes outside of Texas, services must be requested on a case-by-case basis.
